The High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has announced the selection of candidates for the position of local court judge, taking into account 1,800 projected vacancies in local courts.
In their applications to participate in the selection process, persons who expressed their intention to become judges and judges who expressed their intention to be transferred to another local court indicated the specialisation in which they would take the qualification exam.
The Commission has received appeals from candidates admitted to take the qualification exam in several specialisations (administrative and/or commercial and/or general) in which they indicate their refusal to take the exam in certain specialisations.
Initially, the Commission planned to terminate the participation of such candidates for the position of judge in the qualification exam for the specialisations specified in their appeals.
At the same time, the failure of a candidate for the position of judge or a judge to appear for testing in one of their chosen specialisations does not affect their participation in testing in another specialisation.
In view of the above, in such cases, the Commission will not take a decision to terminate the participation of a candidate for the position of judge or a judge in the exam in certain specialisations.
