Competition to the Courts of Appeal: One Candidate Confirmed Their Ability to Administer Justice in the Chernihiv Court of Appeal

On November 05, 2025, at the plenary session of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of confirming the ability of one candidate for the position of judge to administer justice in the Chernihiv Court of Appeal and one candidate in the Transcarpathian Court of Appeal was considered.

Based on the results of the session, the Commission took the following decisions:

In total, interviews were held with 22 candidates for the position of judge in the Chernihiv Court of Appeal: 10 candidates confirmed their ability to administer justice in a general court of appeal, 4 candidates failed to confirm this, and interviews with 8 candidates will be held in the plenary session of the Commission.

For the position of judge at the Transcarpathian Court of Appeal, interviews were held with 30 candidates: 17 candidates confirmed their ability to administer justice, 5 candidates failed to confirm, and interviews with 8 candidates will be held in the plenary session of the Commission.

The Commission also decided to inform the High Council of Justice, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the Office of the Prosecutor General about the circumstances revealed during the consideration of the results of the special check, reviewing the dossier, helding interviews, and determining the results of the qualification assessment of the candidate for the position of judge of the general court of appeal, Oleksandr Korolenko, within the framework of the competition announced by the Commission on September 14, 2023.
